What is Glass Reinforced Polyester (GRP)?

Discovered in the late 1940’s, GRP was adopted during the 50’s and 60’s for a wide range of applications where its corrosive-proof properties combined with its high strength, robustness and attractive appearance proved invaluable.

Since initially being used for boat building, the commercial applications for GRP have widened prolifically. Today it’s a standard material in the construction of small craft, water tanks, building cladding panels, roof lights and high performance waterproof coatings.

Over the last decade, as the benefits of GRP have increasingly been realised, its usage in the roofing industry has grown dramatically.
